RoadRunner 5.0. High rpm, high compression and a metric ton of moving valvetrain parts. It needs a lot of oil and viscosity. With that said, the Motocraft 5w50 full synthetic does tend to shear pretty rapidly down to a 40 weight.
If all you're doing is driving the thing around town, you can get away with a standard 30 weight oil, but if you're running the car hard or at a track, you'll want the heavier oil in there.

Implying you live within 100 miles of Walmart
Implying you wouldn't buy the oil at Pamida/Shopko/Ag Co-op

How can you not live within 100 miles of a Wal Mart? Where do you live Wyoming?

The coyote/roadrunner engines take a full 8 QTS of oil. So much fun to go purchase oil for. I have the basic coyote and not the roadrunner or track pack so my oil is 5w20, but 8qts is not cheap.

I hear ya. I tracked my 2011 GT and did an oil change each HPDE weekend. Not cheap by any stretch.

Curious, no blue coil covers?

Ohh hmm, good catch. Wonder if this is a new Coyote from the 15? Or maybe Ford just decided to change the spec. Definitely not a Trinity motor. It's certainly Coyote based.

Blue coil covers only COME on the Boss. The GT track pack uses 5w-50 as well, and doesn't come with the blue coil covers. Most likely that photo is of a coyote with the track pack.
